150gmsWhole wheat flour
½tspBaking powder
1tspBaking soda
½cupSliced almonds
Instructions
Heat the milk.
Soak the pitted dates in hot milk for an hour to become soft.
Preheat the oven to 370°F (188°C) and generously grease a 6' cake pan.
Once the dates are soft, blend the dates and milk with the applesauce into a puree and transfer to a bowl.
Whisk the whole wheat flour, baking soda, and baking powder into the puree.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Top with the sliced almonds.
Bake for 60 -70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. If the cake is browning quickly in the oven, tent it with aluminum foil to help it bake more evenly.
